There are lots of ways to get involved with Underground Action Alliance.

Would you like to get involved with Underground Action Alliance? A good place to start is our Projects Section. Right now we have three projects, the Get Off Your Ass Interview, the Reader Essay Project, and the Guest Essay Project. The Get Off Your Ass Interview will bring you a conversation, some short and some long, with a different person every month (ideally, anyways... please bear with us). We are trying to talk to people who we hope you’re going to be interested in reading about, and who have something interesting to say. Our Reader Essay and Guest Essay projects will feature rantings and ravings not just from people we know, but from you, too! So be sure to check them out, and then get busy writing!

The Underground Action Alliance Students’ Rights Project is now up and running. The Students’ Rights Project contains all kinds of information about your First Amendment rights of free speech and freedom of the press. The Students’ Rights Project informs you of ways to defend your rights in academic settings, and gives you info about organizations that can help you to do so. We are going to be developing new projects all the time, so if these don’t appeal to you, hopefully we’ll have some in the very near future that do.

We also have the UAA Web ‘Zine, but we need YOUR help to make it happen. We know that there are a lot of you who have something to say or share, but not necessarily a way to get it to a wider audience. That’s where the Underground Action Alliance Web ‘Zine comes in. Send us your stuff… articles, poems, cartoons, reports, pictures; whatever you have that you’re interested in sharing or that you think might be helpful to other youth activists. We’ll look at everything that is submitted to us and choose some of the best for publication.

We would like to run features of youth citizen-activists from across the country (who knows… maybe even around the world?) who are working to make a change in their community.
